Building AI that advances science, learning, and institutions.

Vice President & Chief AI Officer, George Mason University · Associate Dean for Research, College of Engineering & Computing · Professor, Computer Science

I occupy an unusual set of roles. I run an AI research lab at the intersection of foundational methods and high-stakes domains; I design courses, degrees, and pathways that make AI legible to learners within and across disciplines; I have designed institutional and national research and educational programs; I have led and programmed institutes and centers; and I now lead institutional AI strategy and deployment at scale in a public, access-driven R1 university, the largest in Virginia.
