Ivan Avramovic

Ivan Avramovic is an Associate Professor working in the
Department of Computer
Science at George
Mason University. This position follows several
years of work as a term instructor, adjunct
faculty member and as a graduate teaching assistant for the
Department of Computer Science as well as the
Department of Health
Administration and Policy's Health Informatics program,
resulting in multiple distinguished teaching awards.
Additionally, he serves as the Graduate Teaching Assistant
(GTA) Coordinator for the Department of Computer Science.
He completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at GMU,
advised by
Professor Dana
Richards. His research involves analysis of randomized
algorithms, combinatorics, and information dissemination
algorithms, and network communication.
Previously, he completed a B.S. in Electrical Engineering
from the
University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign.
Ivan Avramovic has lived most of his life in northern Virginia.
He has also lived in Illinois and New York, and was born in
the former Yugoslavia. He is married to
Dr. Sanja
Avramovic, an Associate Professor in the
Health Informatics program. Together, they have a daughter
by the name of Tara.
