Art Projects

Work made in the spaces between teaching, travel, and looking more carefully at the world.

I came to photography seriously after years of pointing a phone camera at mountains and wishing the images looked the way the place felt. These projects are the result of learning to close that gap — one course, one shoot, one decision at a time.

The work here is organized by project. Each series has its own page with photographs, captions, and an artist statement. More projects will be added as they are completed.

“To photograph is to appropriate the thing photographed. It means putting oneself into a certain relation to the world that feels like knowledge — and, therefore, like power.”
