Study Abroad

Taking computer science education beyond the classroom — to the places where its history was made and its future is being written.

Travel changes how you think. It puts ideas, history, and culture into a context that no textbook can replicate. These faculty-led programs combine rigorous computer science coursework with immersive experiences in two cities that shaped the discipline — and that will reshape the students who visit them.

Software Engineering
in Vienna, Austria

A summer program centered on CS 321 (Software Engineering) conducted in one of Europe's most beautiful and historically rich cities. Students engage with the course material while experiencing Vienna's extraordinary culture, architecture, and engineering heritage. The program combines coursework with field visits, cultural excursions, and the kind of perspective that only comes from studying in a completely different environment.

CS Origins —
Turing, Babbage & Lovelace in the UK

A January intensive program that traces the origins of computing through the lives and legacies of its founding figures — Alan Turing, Charles Babbage, and Ada Lovelace. Students visit historical sites, museums, and institutions across the UK that connect these towering figures to the modern discipline they helped create. A rare chance to walk the history of computer science rather than just read it.
